Time out to Tamu Tutong..

Since its the public holiday on his Majesty's Birthday which fell on Thursday, we took the chance to have a go to the 'tamu'..which means open market located in Tutong. This is because the tamu only opens on Thursday so I don't always have the chance to go as its on a working day. For my hubby its the only one purpose for him to go there that is 'lalap'...well its actually bbq beef but spiced with traditional herbs..and not many people knows how to cook its so to me its sort of rare..and also a bit costly but all the while worth it..so from me to you..enjoy the pix!!..

The busy tamu..

This is petai..locals call it panadol...cos its sort of 'painkiller' once you eat it...

'Tebadak'..

'Durians'...locals love these especially the red ones..

Salted eggs..yummy with rice..

Mice....eeeee

'Toman' fish...look there's the rare green one in the middle..

'Peragam' also for its singing talent..

'Tapai' or sweet rice...

Handicrafts....

Traditional tool for making 'belacan' or shrimp paste..

Different types of honeys...

Food section...this is the fry food section...

'Kelupis' or soft rice eaten plain or with curry...

'Nasi Katok'...

Local dry food..

The bbq section..'lalap' where are you...
